An additive map \\(D\\colon R\\to R\\) is called a generalized derivation if there exists a derivation \\(\\delta\\) such that \\(D(xy)=xD(y)+\\delta(x)y\\) for all \\(x,y\\in R\\). A map \\(f\\colon R\\to R\\) is called strong commutativity-preserving (scp) on \\(S\\) if \\([f(x),f(y)]=[x,y]\\) for all \\(x,y\\in S\\).   The authors show first that if \\(a\\in U\\) and \\(\\delta\\) is a derivation on \\(R\\) such that the generalized derivation given by \\(D(x)=xa+\\delta(x)\\) is scp on a right ideal \\(\\rho\\), then \\(\\delta(\\rho)\\rho\\subseteq Z\\). For noncommutative prime rings, they characterize the nonzero generalized derivations which are scp on a nonzero ideal (resp. a nonzero right ideal). The right ideal result is complicated, but the only nonzero generalized derivations which are scp on a nonzero ideal are the identity map and its negative.","citation":[{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4305872"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4322130"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4322132"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2563742"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4390568"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4261257"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2758253"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q1882489"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5291215"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5490348"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q3609460"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2532814"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4112071"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q1882884"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q3803280"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q1237123"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4865491"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4332955"}]},"provenance":{"prov:generatedAtTime":"2026-01-14T07:47:36Z","prov:wasAttributedTo":"MaRDI Knowledge Graph"}}
