Let \\(Z\\subset V\\) be a line; the normal bundle \\(N_{Z/V}\\) is either \\({\\mathcal O}\\oplus {\\mathcal O}(-1)\\) (type A) or \\(N_{Z/V}={\\mathcal O}(1)\\oplus {\\mathcal O}(-2)\\) (type B). The Fano threefold \\(V=V_{2g-2}\\) is called exotic if the scheme \\(\\tau\\) (V) has a one-dimensional component of lines of type B. First examples of exotic Fano threefolds have been constructed by \\textit{S. Mukai} and \\textit{H. Umemura} [see Algebraic geometry, Proc. Jap.-Fr. Conf., Tokyo and Kyoto 1982, Lect. Notes Math. 1016, 490-518 (1983; Zbl 0526.14006)]; in particular they constructed an exotic Fano threefold \\(V'_{22}\\) of genus 12. - The author proves the following uniqueness theorem: Let \\(V=V_{2g-2}\\) be an exotic Fano threefold of genus \\(g=10\\) or 12. Then \\(g=12\\) and V coincides with the threefold \\(V'_{22}\\)."},"provenance":{"prov:generatedAtTime":"2026-01-07T12:36:47Z","prov:wasAttributedTo":"MaRDI Knowledge Graph"}}
