Let \\(\\theta \\) be a root of \\(f\\) and let \\(K=\\mathbb{Q} (\\theta)\\). The author calls the polynomial \\(f\\) monogenic if the ring of integers of \\(K\\) is of the form \\(\\mathbb{Z} [\\theta]\\), in other words, a root of \\(f\\) generates a power integral basis of \\(K\\). For a large number of references on this subject, refer to the introduction of this paper.  The aim of this paper under review is to provide sufficient conditions for a trinomial of the form \\(f(X)=X^n + a X^m +b \\in \\mathbb{Z}[X]\\) to be \\textit{non-monogenic}. The author uses the Newton polygon method to enumerate the irreducible factors of \\(f\\) modulo a prime \\(p\\) and finds a condition for \\(p\\) to be a divisor of the common index divisor, thus indicating that it is not monogenic.  The main results obtained are too complicated to state here due to the many case-by-case descriptions involved. By applying the main results, the author obtained an infinite subfamily of trinomials of degree \\(2^k 3^r \\) for which \\(3\\) divides the common index divisor.","citation":[{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2151123"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5157560"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2108517"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5156118"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4829491"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q3139838"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4561488"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5080191"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2672018"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2909803"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5223012"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5074027"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4260441"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q730035"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2362668"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q1329184"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q800975"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5388828"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2163057"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5099405"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4595081"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4565066"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q5021434"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q1184186"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4821147"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q2883258"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4988882"}]},"provenance":{"prov:generatedAtTime":"2026-04-06T10:52:14Z","prov:wasAttributedTo":"MaRDI Knowledge Graph"}}
