In order to attack this problem there are considered \\textit{dynamically convex} contact forms which generalize the classical notion of convexity for spheres in \\(\\mathbb{R}^{2n}\\) to general contact manifolds in a homological fashion.  The main result, namely Theorem 2.2, establishes a sharp lower bound for the number of geometrically distinct contractible periodic orbits of dynamically convex contact forms on suitable prequantizations.
