There are two ways to construct these tilings: local rules and substitutions. It is proved that these ways are equivalent. Moreover, it is proved that, if an A2 tiling tiles a convex set, then that set is either a plane, or a half-plane, or a quadrant. The described results are known in folklore but it seems that their proofs has never been published.
