Let \\(G\\) be a group and let \\(H\\) be a group acting on \\(G\\) in such a manner that \\(G_1\\vartriangleleft G_2\\vartriangleleft\\cdots\\vartriangleleft G_{n-1}\\vartriangleleft G_n\\vartriangleleft G\\) is an \\(H\\)-invariant subgroup chain with cyclic factors. Then \\(H/C_H(G/G_1)\\) is supersolvable.   Among the consequences of this result, I quote here the following: Corollary 5. Let \\(G\\) be a finite solvable group, let \\(H\\) be a group acting on \\(G\\) and suppose there exists an \\(H\\)-invariant subgroup chain \\(1=G_1<G_2<\\cdots<G_{n-1}<G_n=G\\) with \\(|G_{i+1}:G_i|\\) a prime for \\(1\\leq i\\leq n-1\\).
