In this paper, the mathematical model of competition between three populations for a single limiting nutrient is stated and our main result on competition is formulated. Following \\textit{J. P. Grover} [J. Theor. Biol. 158, 409-428 (1992)], \\textit{H. L. Smith} and \\textit{P. Waltman} [Competition for a single limiting resource incontinuous culture: The variable-yield model. Georgia Inst. Technol., USA, Res. Rep. No. 121, 1-32 (1993)], a constant-yield model exhibiting the same asymptotic behaviour as the given variable-yield model can be identified. This correspondence is briefly discussed.","citation":[{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q3688211"},{"@id":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/entity/Q4126123"}]},"provenance":{"prov:generatedAtTime":"2025-12-25T09:25:55Z","prov:wasAttributedTo":"MaRDI Knowledge Graph"}}
